Surgical Oncology Fellowship (Code- DATFS2020)

ASI- Delhi State Chapter feels privileged to announce the Travelling fellowship. We have chosen two high volume and state of the art centers in the field of Minimally Invasive Surgical Oncology and Bariatric Surgery. Each Center will provide a Fellowship for one registered member of the Delhi-ASI per year sponsored by the Delhi-ASI abiding with the rules and regulations drafted by the national parent body- ASI.

The rules and regulations for the Travelling fellowship are:

• The fellowship is awarded only to a Full Life Member of ASI registered with Delhi ASI.
• A member can apply for only one Travelling Fellowship any one year.
• The Fellowship will have to be availed in the same year and will not be allowed to be carried forward for the subsequent years.
• The centers selected for the Travelling Fellowship for the year 2020 are-
• MohakHospital , Indore; under the guidance of Dr MohitBhandhari for Bariatric Surgery Fellowship.
• Galaxy Hospital, Pune; under the guidance of Dr ShaileshPuntambekar for Surgical Oncology Fellowship.
• The selected candidate will spend a period of 2 weeks in the designated center for the selected fellowship for updating his knowledge in a given surgical specialty.
• ASI-Delhi will provide with a sponsorship of Rs.25,000/- per candidate for the Travelling Fellowship on successful awarding of the fellowship.

Documents to be sent to be eligible for the selection process along with the application form include-

• The curriculum vitae of the applicant with details of the ASI membership.
• A certificate of good standing, issued from the parent institute where the surgeon is working
• Degree certificate and DMC/ State registration/ MCI registration certificate.

• The applications will be scrutinized by Committee appointed by the President for the purpose and the decision of the Committee will be final.
• On completion of the training, the candidate must send a detailed report on the Training obtained to the secretary Delhi-ASI along with the certificate and Log Book signed by the guide for the Fellowship on or before the completion of 1 month after finishing the training at the center.
• A certificate will be given after completion of the Fellowship formalities at the time of Annual Conference of Delhi-ASI in the month of November every year.

1. Dr. Shagun Agarwal- Surgical Oncology Fellowship (Code DATFS2022) at AIIMS Rishikesh under the guidance of Prof. Amit Gupta, in charge, Surgical Oncology, AIIMS Rishikesh
2. Dr. Aditya Kumar- Bariatric Surgery Fellowship ( Code- DATFB2022) at ILS Hospitals, Kolkata under the guidance of Dr. Om Tantia, Medical Director & Head , ILS Hospital
